\u201cBut when they were granted a righteous child, they associated partners with Him in what He had given them. Exalted is Allah above what they associate with Him.\u201d<\/p>\nHistorically, the idolatrous Makkah husband and wife would pray to Allah for a healthy delivery, and Allah would accept their prayer. However, after childbirth, they would associate partners with Allah.<\/p>\n
They would equate many other things with Allah. This is what Allah, exalted is He, indicates in this verse. For a Muslim, it is absolutely impermissible to associate partners (shirk) with Allah, whether before or after childbirth or at any point in life.<\/p>\n
In the Qur\u2019anic perspective, associating partners with Allah is a grave sin. Those who commit such acts are influenced by the devil. Thus, seeking protection from the devil\u2019s mischief and striving to be a devoted servant of Allah is crucial.<\/p>\n
