Is Time Created? Or is it from the Names of God (Allah)? <\/p>\n

Answer by Al-Im\u0101m \u02bfAbdul-\u02bfAzeez Ibn B\u0101z<\/strong> (Allah\u2019s mercy be upon him):<\/p>\n

No. Rather, He is the creator of time (ad-dahr). Ad-dahr is time itself, and Allah is its Creator. That is why He, the Mighty and Majestic, said: \u201cI turn its night and its day.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Question:<\/strong> But Allah says, \u201cI am ad-dahr\u201d<\/strong>? (i.e. in a hadeeth).<\/p>\n

Answer:<\/strong> Meaning, I am the Creator of time \u2014 just as occurs in the [same] hadeeth: \u201cI turn its night and its day.\u201d<\/strong> This is the wording of the hadith: \u201cI turn its night and its day.\u201d<\/p>\n

Question:<\/strong> Then, is time one of the Attributes of Allah?<\/p>\n

Answer:<\/strong> No. Ad-dahr is the created thing \u2014 it is time.<\/p>\n
