To proceed:<\/p>\n

Over the years, many brothers and sisters have asked me what books I recommend for those who wish to learn the Religion and build their understanding, so that they remain steadfast upon the Sunnah and are safeguarded from the sects of misguidance and their futile beliefs. It goes without saying that the learner must remain sincere to Allah, seeking His Face, His pleasure, His guidance, His bounty, and His forgiveness. <\/p>\n

I advise my brothers, sisters, sons and daughters who have chosen the path of Salafiyyah (the methodology of Ahlul-Hadeeth) to also read this article from my website: Advice to Muslims Who have Chosen the Way of the Salaf and Ahlul-Hadeeth (30-page eBook).<\/a> \u2014 and share it with your relatives and friends.<\/p>\n

As for the books that I (and more importantly, our scholars) recommend for the one who has embarked upon the madh<\/span>hab of the Salaf and Ahlul-Hadeeth, then they are as follows:<\/p>\n

1. The Book of Allah: this should be read daily without fail\u2014ideally in the morning after Fajr, and then again at night. For those with work and busy schedules, make time for the Book of Allah, even if it\u2019s just half an hour daily after Fajr. Ponder over its meanings and attach your hearts to it.<\/p>\n

2. The Three Fundamental Principles<\/a> (Thal\u0101thatul-Us\u016bl wa Adillatuh\u0101) of Shaikh al-Islam Muhammad Ibn Abdul-Wahh\u0101b: a book dealing with Tawheed of worship \u2014 along with the explanation of Shaikh al-Fawz\u0101n, or Shaikh \u02bfUbaid al-J\u0101bir\u012b or Shaikh Ibn \u02bfUthaimeen.<\/p>\n

3. The Explanation of the Creed of Im\u0101m al-Barbah\u0101r\u012b (Sharhus-Sunnah): discusses \u02bfAqeedah and Manhaj \u2014 along with the explanation of Shaikh al-Fawz\u0101n or Shaikh Rabee\u02bf al-Madkhal\u012b.<\/p>\n

4. Kit\u0101b at-Tawheed of Shaikh al-Islam Muhammad Ibn Abdul-Wahh\u0101b (The Book of Tawheed) \u2014 along with the explanation of Shaikh Ahmad an-Najm\u012b<\/a>, or Shaikh al-Fawz\u0101n, or Shaikh Ibn \u02bfUthaimeen.<\/p>\n

5. Al-Aqeedah al-W\u0101sitiyyah of Shaikh al-Isl\u0101m Ibn Taymiyyah: discusses \u02bfAqeedah, especially All\u0101h\u2019s Names and Attributes \u2014 along with the explanation of Shaikh al-Fawz\u0101n, or Shaikh Muhammad Khal\u012bl Harr\u0101s, or Shaikh Ibn \u02bfUthaimeen, or Shaikh S\u0101lih Aalush-Shaikh.<\/p>\n

6. The Foundations of the Sunnah of Im\u0101m Ahmad Ibn Hanbal (Us\u016blus-Sunnah): discusses \u02bfAqeedah and Manhaj \u2014 along with the explanation of Shaikh Ahmad an-Najm\u012b or Shaikh Rabee\u02bf al-Madkhal\u012b.<\/p>\n

7. \u02bfAqeedatur-R\u0101ziyyan<\/a> of Abu H\u0101tim and Abu Zur\u02bfah (the R\u0101ziyiyan): discusses \u02bfAqeedah and Manhaj \u2014 along with the explanation of Shaikh Rabee\u02bf al-Madkhal\u012b, or Shaikh Ahmad an-Najm\u012b.<\/p>\n

8. Buloogh al-Mar\u0101m of al-Hafidh Ibn Hajr: Hadeeth collection in Shari\u02bfah regulations and Fiqh\u2014 with the explanation of Shaikh al-Fawz\u0101n, or Shaikh Sideeq Hasan Kh\u0101n. <\/p>\n

9. Umdatul-Ahk\u0101m min Kal\u0101m Khairil-An\u2019\u0101m of Im\u0101m Abdul-Ghaniyy al-Maqdisi (d. 600 H): Hadeeth collection in Shari\u02bfah regulations and Fiqh \u2014 along with the explanation of Shaikh Ibn \u02bfUthaimeen, or Shaikh Ahmad an-Najm\u012b.<\/p>\n

10. An-Nawaw\u012b\u2019s Forty Hadeeth of Im\u0101m an-Nawaw\u012b \u2014 with the explanation of Shaikh al-Fawz\u0101n.<\/p>\n

11. Tasfeer of the Qur\u2019\u0101n by at-Tabar\u012b, Ibn Katheer, or in recent times of as-Sa\u02bfdi; and my personal favourite, Ibn \u02bfUthaimeen.<\/p>\n

12. Minh\u0101j as-S\u0101likeen of Shaikh \u02bfAbdur-Rahm\u0101n N\u0101sir as-Sa\u02bfd\u012b: discusses matters of Shari\u02bfah regulations and Fiqh rulings.<\/p>\n

13. Sifatus-Sal\u0101h: Description of the Prophet\u2019s Prayer (salall\u0101hu \u02bfalaihi wasallam) of Shaikh al-Alb\u0101n\u012b; also his Ahk\u0101m al-Jan\u0101\u2019iz (Funeral Regulations).<\/p>\n

13. Al-Adab al-Mufrad of Im\u0101m al-Bukh\u0101r\u012b: Hadeeth collection in Islamic manners and conduct \u2014 along with the explanation of Shaikh Zayd al-Madkhal\u012b.<\/p>\n

14. All the six books of Hadeeth for your reference library: al-Bukh\u0101r\u012b, Muslim, Abu D\u0101w\u016bd, at-Tirmidh\u012b, an-Nas\u0101\u2019\u012b and Ibn M\u0101jah \u2014 for the four books of Sunan, rely on the checkings of Shaikh al-Alb\u0101n\u012b. Of course, each of these books has well-known Arabic explanations, and some contemporary scholars of Ahlul-Hadeeth and Salafiyyah also provide explanations. But, for the beginner, he should get hold of the texts of these hadeeth books, and then slowly build upon that with their explanations. One-volume versions of the texts are available with rulings upon the ah\u0101deeth by Shaikh al-Alb\u0101n\u012b, which is invaluable to the student of knowledge.<\/p>\n

15. There are also, in Tawheed and fundamentals, further well-known books of Shaikh al-Isl\u0101m Muhammad Ibn \u02bfAbdul-Wahh\u0101b that I see to be very important: Qaw\u0101\u02bfid al-Arba\u02bfah (Four Fundamental Principles); Kashf ash-Shubuh\u0101t (Removal of the Doubt); Fadl al-Isl\u0101m (the Excellence of Islam); and Mas\u0101\u2019il al-J\u0101hilyyah (Affairs from the Time of Pre-Islamic Ignorance). <\/p>\n

16. Manhaj al-Anbiy\u0101\u02be fid-Da\u02bfwati ilall\u0101h (The Methodology of Prophets in Calling to All\u0101h) of Shaikh Rabee\u02bf al-Madkhal\u012b.<\/p>\n

17. Al-Ajwibah Al-Mufeedah \u2018an As\u2019ilatil-Man\u0101hij Al-Jadeedah (Beneficial Answers to Questions about the Modern-Day Innovated Methodologies) of Shaikh S\u0101lih al-Fawz\u0101n. <\/p>\n

18. The Fataw\u0101 of al-Lajnah ad-D\u0101\u2019imah (Permanent Committee for Fatwa in Saudi Arabia) \u2014 a large collection.<\/p>\n

19. Majmoo\u02bf Fat\u0101w\u0101 of Im\u0101m Ibn B\u0101z \u2014 a large collection.<\/p>\n

20. Majmoo\u02bf Fat\u0101w\u0101 wa Ras\u0101\u02beil of \u02bfAll\u0101mah Ibn \u02bfUthaimeen \u2014 a large collection.<\/p>\n

21. At-Tawassul: Its Types and Rulings of Im\u0101m al-Alb\u0101n\u012b: an important book in Tawheed al-Ib\u0101dah and seeking nearness to Allah; and where the innovators have gone wrong.<\/p>\n

I could continue listing more and more books, until the list becomes very lengthy\u2014and then the purpose of writing a manageable list is lost. So, I will suffice with what I have stated (for now). Many of these books have been translated into English and are available at the Salafi Bookstore (al-Maktabah as-Salafiyyah) in Birmingham and on their online store.<\/p>\n
