All praise is due to Allāh, Lord of the worlds. May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon his Messenger, his family, his Companions and all who truly follow him.
Hadith no. 8: “Exit from Trials Lies in Returning to the Earliest Affair.”
Abu Wāqid al-Laythī (Allah be pleased with him) narrated:
“Allah’s Messenger (salallāhu ʿalaihi wasallam) said, while we were all sitting on a rug: ‘Indeed there will be trials.’ They asked: ‘So, how are we to behave, O Messenger of Allah?’ So, he returned his hand to the rug and took hold of it tightly and said: ‘This is how you shall behave!’
Allah’s Messenger (salallāhu ʿalaihi wasallam) said to them one day: ‘Indeed, there will be trials.’ But many of the people had not heard him. So Muʿādh Ibn Jabal (Allah be pleased with him) said: ‘Did you not hear what Allah’s Messenger has said?’ They replied: ‘What did he say?’ He repeated: ‘Indeed, there will be trials.’ They asked: ‘How should we behave, O Messenger of Allah? And what should we do?’ He replied: ‘You shall return to your affair as it was in the beginning.’”
